20th Sunday in Ordinary Time
16 August 2015
“Anyone who eats this bread will live for ever.”
The Eucharist is the sacrament of love. In giving himself to us in Holy Communion, Jesus shows the greatness of his love.
First Reading: Proverbs 9:1-6
Wisdom prepares a banquet and invites all to walk in the way of understanding and love.
Second Reading: Ephesians 5:15-20
In Christ there is a new intelligence, a new way of living.
Gospel: John 6:51-58
Jesus stuns his listeners by saying that he is the bread come down from heaven and that those who receive his body and blood will live for ever.

In our day, there is a real hunger for Jesus and the Gospel, and the cursillo is a way of meeting this desire and need. With the approval of Archbishop O’Brien, this is a call to all cursillistas to come together (Ultreya), to celebrate Mass, to experience small group reunion and participate in the re-founding of cursillo in the Archdiocese and to go forward. Please mark your calendar, 26 September 2015, at St. John the Apostle Parish (Patrick & Quebec Streets). You are asked to pre-regsiter to Friar Ed Debono, email@example.com, with your name, address, phone number and email. Information with regard to time, and other particulars, will be forwarded to you by email. Remember the Mananita? It was a wake-up call.
