Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time

24 February 2019

“Love your enemies and do good.”

Introduction

In the world, we fear and hate our enemies.  In the kingdom of heaven, we are taught to love enemies and to learn the meaning of mercy.

Todays Readings

First Reading: 1 Samuel 26:2, 7-9, 12-13, 22-23

David shows mercy to Saul and so proves his uprightness of spirit.

Second Reading: 1 Corinthians 15:45-49

Paul explains how we earthly creatures can become heavenly through Christ Jesus.

Gospel: Luke 6:27-38

Jesus shows us how love is a power, not a weakness.
