Sixth Sunday of Easter

26 May 2019

“The Advocate, the Holy Spirit, will teach you everything.”

Introduction

The risen Jesus is by our side; his indwelling word teaches us how to live.  God has come to make God’s home within us.  Thus, we may know such peace as the world can never give.

Todays Readings

First Reading: Acts 15:1-2, 22-29

Delegates are sent from Jerusalem to help the Christians of Antioch understand all that the Holy Spirit is teaching them.

Second Reading: Apocalypse 21:10-14, 22-23

St. John shares with us his heavenly vision of Jerusalem, the holy city, radiant with the glorious presence of God in the midst of God’s people.

Gospel: John 14:23-29

Jesus’ disciples are called to be faithful to his teaching, helped by the Holy Spirit whom God sends in his name.  God’s indwelling word will bring us peace.
