JUNIOR LITURGY PROGRAM will commence on Sunday, 10 September 2017, at the 9:00 & 11:00 a.m. Masses. The Junior Liturgy program is designed for children who are 4-8 years of age. The children are asked to sit with their parents until they are called forward by the Priest. They will receive a blessing and be guided into the parish hall. They will return to their parents just before the Offertory. We look forward to a great year with your children and thank our volunteers for all their assistance. MASS AT ST. MARY’S CEMETERY St. Joseph’s Parish will celebrate Mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery on Sunday, 10 September 2017, at 2:00 p.m., at 718 Division Street, Kingston. Archbishop O’Brien will preside. This will be an excellent opportunity to remember, and to commend to God, family members, friends and former parishioners who have gone before us. Please invite others who might wish to join you; and bring a hat and lawn chair for your comfort and convenience. In the event of rain, Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s.

CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE General Meeting will take place on Monday, 11 September 2017, at 7:00 p.m., in the parish hall.

OUR COMMUNITY

SACRISTAN POSITION available at St. Mary’s Cathedral. The Sacristan’s position is a 50% position. The duties include the cleaning and upkeep of all vestments, linens used for Mass, altar cloths, altar servers’ robes, choir members’ robes, sacred vessels and everything required for the upkeep of the sanctuaries of the Cathedral and St. James’ chapel. Interested applicants should be very particular about cleanliness and be a very proficient seamstress/tailor. Extra duties would involve setting up for all Sunday Masses, being present at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday Mass at the Cathedral, at any celebration for which the Archbishop is present, and for funerals and weddings. SEPARATED AND/OR DIVORCED Are you, or someone you know, experiencing the trauma of a Separation and/or Divorce? Where do you turn for help? Come to the New Life Group Meeting, a Catholic Ministry for the Separated and Divorced, on alternate Tuesday evenings, from 7:30-9:30 p.m. The next meeting will take place on Tuesday, 29 August 2017, at the Francis J. Spence Pastoral Centre, 390 Palace Road. All faith denominations are welcome. Annual Retreat will take place on 17-18 November 2017.

“WOMEN OF VIRTUE” ANNUAL WOMEN’S DAY This event, sponsored by The Salvation Army, will take place on Saturday, 9 September 2017, from 9:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m., at 183 Weller Avenue, Kingston. CONFERENCE IN KINGSTON We are called to hear and reflect on the Word of God to become more deeply the word of God ourselves and to proclaim it by our lives. This gathering will focus on the role of the Word of God in our lives as Catholics. We shall explore the place God’s Word has in the preparation for Baptism, Confirmation and first sharing in Holy Communion, as well as the implications of having the Word of God at the heart of the initiation process (RCIA). This event is for all baptized, especially those preparing to celebrate Sacraments of Initiation, on Friday, 15 September 2017, from 7:00-9:00 p.m.; and Saturday, 16 September 2017, from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., at the Providence Spirituality Centre, 1200 Princess Street, Kingston. PILGRIMAGE TO SAINT-MARIE AMONG THE HURONS & MARTYR SHRINE IN MIDLAND on 16 September 2017, hosted by St. Barnaby’s Catholic Women’s League. Coach bus leaves St. Barnaby’s at 7:00 a.m. Cost is $50.00 per person, but may be reduced, depending on fundraising efforts.
