Eighteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

5 August 2018

Work for food that endures to eternal life.

Introduction

We come together today to celebrate the fact that we are not alone.  God calls us together to reassure us that Christ, our bread and life, will always be food for our journey of life.

Todays Readings

First Reading: Exodus 16:2-4, 12-15

When the people complain in the desert, God gives them bread from heaven to eat.

Second Reading: Ephesians 4:17, 20-24

Christians are called to give up their former way of life and be renewed in mind so as to become a new person created in God’s way.

Gospel: John 6:24-35

Jesus is the bread of life, the new sign that God continues to feed God’s people on their way in the world of today.
