ADVENT PENANCE CELEBRATION The Advent Penance Celebration for St. Joseph’s will be held today, Sunday, 10 December 2017, at 2:00 p.m. Following a brief liturgy, all will have the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. A number of visiting clergy will be present for this celebration, and all in the parish, and indeed from outside the parish, are most welcome to attend.

CHRISTMAS BASKETS Students from St. Paul and St. Thomas More schools will, again this year, be handing out decorated brown paper bags this weekend of 9-10 December 2017. You are invited to take one home, fill it with non-perishable groceries and return it to St. Joseph Church next weekend, 16-17 December 2017. The groceries will be used for the annual distribution of Christmas baskets by our parish. Monetary donations will also be accepted. Thank you to the students for decorating the bags and giving them a personal touch.
CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE Potluck & Appreciation Dinner will take place on Monday, 11 December 2017, following the 5:15 p.m. Mass. Please drop off your contributions of food before the Mass, so they can be kept hot if necessary, and note if your food is vegetarian or gluten-free, for those who need to know. (For those coming just for dinner, it will start around 6:15 p.m.) Thank you!
CHRISTMAS EVE PAGEANT If your child is age 4 or older, and would like to participate in this year’s Nativity pageant at the 5:15 p.m. Christmas Eve Mass, please plan to attend practices at the church on Sunday, 10 and 17 December 2017, after the 11:00 a.m. Mass, as the pageant participants will be practising with the Christmas choir at that time. The pageant is narrated, and therefore the children do not have speaking roles; so even the shiest can participate. Older students are encouraged to take part, as we always need readers for Narrator, Lector and Prayer of the Faithful. All are welcome!
CHRISTMAS CONCERT Join us for an afternoon of Christmas music, featuring the local talent of Chris Murphy, Jon McLurg and Brian Flynn, (three members of the band, Turpin’s Trail) in the church on Thursday, 14 December 2017, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served in the parish hall; a free-will offering would be gratefully appreciated.
“BIRDS & FLOWERS” COLLECTION Each year, St. Joseph’s attempts to provide for those who are in need at this Christmas season. This will enable the parish to continue to help others in the spirit of this season. Thank you for your assistance.
NEW YEAR’S EVE VIGIL St. Joseph’s annual New Year’s Adoration Vigil will commence after the 5:15 p.m. Mass New Year’s Eve and continue until midnight.
