Automatic Debit is available for those St. Joseph’s parishioners wishing to have their Sunday Offering and/or Building Fund Collection debited directly from their bank account on a monthly basis. Those who wish to begin Automatic Debit are asked to visit the parish office to complete the necessary paperwork.




LOST AND FOUND A number of articles have been left behind in the church over the past few months.  We have displayed them at the back of the church for you to pick-up, if they belong to you.  There are also items of jewellery, keys , bank cards, etc., in the office for safe-keeping; please visit to identify your found items.


HOSPITALITY SUNDAY The next Hospitality Sunday will take place this Sunday, 28 January 2018, after the 9:00 & 11:00 a.m. Masses.  The gracious hosts will be the staff and students of St. Thomas More Catholic School.  Please join us in the parish hall for fellowship and refreshments.


  1. BLAISE – BLESSING OF THE THROATS will take place on Saturday, 3 February 2018, at the 9:00 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. Masses.


FIRST FRIDAY DEVOTION On Friday, 2 February 2018, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will commence at 9:00 a.m. and continue until 5:00 p.m.  You are encouraged to spend an hour with the Lord.


CATHOLIC MISSIONS IN CANADA COLLECTION  A special Diocesan collection for Catholic Missions in Canada will be taken up on the weekend of 3-4 February 2018.   This collection will be forwarded to the Archdiocese no later than 5 March 2018; please ensure that you have made your donation by this date.


CATHOLIC WOMENS LEAGUE If you wish to become a member or to renew your membership, please place your $20.00 fee in an envelope and write your name, address, telephone number and “CWL” on the envelope, and drop in the collection basket by 4 February 2018.  The Executive will meet on Monday, 5 February 2018, at 7:00 p.m. in the parish hall.


SPIRITUAL INQUIRY The next session of the Spiritual Inquiry will be held on Wednesday, 7 February 2018, from 7:00-8:30 p.m., in the parish hall.  As in the past, it is an excellent opportunity to discuss our Catholic Faith, religious practices and spiritual belief.  With no prescribed agenda, topics have been quite varied and thought-provoking in past sessions.  In a relaxed, accepting environment, participants have the opportunity to express their thoughts, raise questions or simply listen to the responses of others in attendance.  Coffee/tea will be offered.


SACRAMENTS OF FIRST RECONCILIATION &  FIRST COMMUNION All parents of grade two students who wish that their children celebrate the Sacraments of First Holy Communion and First Reconciliation here at St. Joseph’s are invited to attend a Parent Information Meeting on Tuesday, 20 February 2018, at 7:00 p.m. in St. Joseph’s parish hall.  Since this is the first planning meeting for the celebration of these Sacraments, it is particularly important that the parents of all children attend.  The Enrollment Ceremony will take place on 7-8 April 2018.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Habitat for Humanity are in need of meal providers to provide a balanced meal between now and the end of February.  Meals are provided Monday-Saturday, and any help is welcome.  Meal providers supply coffee break at 10:30 a.m. with coffee, tea, muffins, fruits, granola bars, veggie tray, etc; and/or lunch at 12:30 p.m., with sandwiches, soup, lasagna, chili, etc.  Location is 46 Cowdy Street, Kingston.  Call 613-548-8763 ext. 202 or email for information, or to volunteer.
