15th Sunday in Ordinary Time
10 July 2016

“The one who took pity on him.”

Introduction

The Lord comes to raise us up; his love for us reaches into the depths of our suffering. Do we have the generosity to respond to the sufferings of others?

Today’s Readings

First Reading: Deuteronomy 30:10-14

Moses tells the people that they must obey the voice of the Lord by keeping the commandments that are written in their hearts.

Second Reading: Colossians 1:15-20

St. Paul proclaims that Jesus Christ is the image of the unseen God through whom all was created and in whom all things are reconciled to God.

Gospel: Luke 10:25-37

In response to the challenge of a lawyer, Jesus gives us the parable of the good Samaritan, which shows us who our neighbour is.
