Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

22 July 2018

He took pity on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd.

As sheep need a shepherd, so people need someone to lead and guide them, to care for them and protect them.  Pastoral care is a vocation for all of us.

Todays Readings

First Reading: Jeremiah 23:1-6

Pastoral care is vital for everyone in this world.  Shepherds are always needed.

Second Reading: Ephesians 2:13-18

A divided world is brought together through the suffering of the Lord.

Gospel: Mark 6:30-34

Human need prompts and provokes a compassionate response.
