Tenth Sunday in Ordinary Time

10 June 2018

Anyone who does the will of God….is my brother and sister and mother.

Today’s Gospel offers us an image of Jesus as the “good burglar” who breaks into Satan’s stronghold to rescue all held captive in sin and shame.  Freed, forgiven, made new by God’s Spirit, we become brothers and sisters of Jesus.

Todays Readings

First Reading: Genesis 3:9-15

People have always blamed others for their own shortcomings.  That is why human relationships so often fail.

Second Reading: 2 Corinthians 4:13-5:1

The Spirit prepares us for life with God by the daily renewing of our inner selves.

Gospel: Mark 3:20-35

Those who feel powerless in the grip of evil come to Jesus for forgiveness and healing, though not everyone recognizes in him the Spirit of God.
