11th Sunday in Ordinary Time
12 June 2016
“It is the man who is forgiven little who shows little love.”
Today Jesus shows us the power of divine forgiveness to reach out and touch those who feel most distant from God.
First Reading: 2 Samuel 12:7-10, 13
King David recognizes his sins, which have shown contempt for God. Yet God will forgive him.
Second Reading: Galatians 2:16, 19-21
Paul says that, if the law could have saved us, there would have been no point in Christ’s death upon the cross.
Gospel: Luke 7:36-8:3
Jesus shows how the greatest sinner, when forgiven by God, can show the greatest love.
