This is the day when the Church was born, brought into life by the gift of the Holy Spirit. May our lives, each one of us and together, be renewed this day.

Automatic Debit is available for those St. Joseph’s parishioners wishing to have their Sunday Offering and/or Building Fund Collection debited directly from their bank account on a monthly basis. Those who wish to begin Automatic Debit are asked to visit the parish office to complete the necessary paperwork.


ST. JOSEPH’S VISITOR PROGRAMME A number of parishioners of St. Joseph’s may find it increasingly difficult to get out much. Even getting to church may be a challenge, and yet you would like to keep contact with your parish. You may be living in your own home, a seniors’ residence or a nursing home.

If you, or someone whom you know, would appreciate having someone visit on behalf of the parish, please phone the parish office at 613-547-5004, and make arrangements for a visit. We look forward to hearing from you.

NEWS FROM THE CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE The Executive Meeting will take place on Monday, 5 June 2017, at 7:00 p.m., in the parish hall.
NOTE: Instead of a General Meeting on Monday, 12 June 2017, we will attend the 5:15 p.m. Mass, followed with the Presentation of Pins to new and milestone members, then on to our Potluck Party, in the parish hall, at 6:00 p.m. Join us at whatever point you are able! Please call Mary Clancy at 613-544-4190 if you are able to attend, and to let us know what you will be bringing. This is our final get-together until September, so hope to see you there!

SPIRITUAL INQUIRY The final gathering of the Spiritual Inquiry forum before the summer break will be held on Wednesday, 7 June 2017, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Come along and explore with other parishioners the many aspects of our faith, religion and spirituality. The session is quite informal, featuring of a broad range of questions and comments, posed by members of the group gathered, which trigger interesting and thought-provoking responses from others. From session to session, one never knows what the ‘hot button’ topic of discussion will be that night. Coffee and tea are available.

BUILDING FUND The monthly collection of the Building Fund will take place next weekend, 10-11 June2017. This month we will be replacing the aging roof on both the rectory and the garage, and will be assessing the condition of the church roof. Your support continues to make a difference. Thank you.

EDUCATION OF SEMINARIANS A special Diocesan collection for the Education of Seminarians will be taken up on the weekend of 17-18 June 2017. This collection will be forwarded to the Archdiocese no later than 15 July 2017. Thank you.

SOCIAL & ECOLOGICAL JUSTICE GROUP MEETING will be held on the 4th Friday of the month at 9:30 a.m. The next meeting will take place on Friday, 23 June 2017. Please join us in the parish hall.


SEPARATED AND/OR DIVORCED Are you, or someone you know, experiencing the trauma of a Separation and/or Divorce? Where do you turn for help? Come to the New Life Group Meeting, a Catholic Ministry for the Separated and Divorced, on alternate Tuesday evenings, from 7:30-9:30 p.m. The next meeting will take place on Tuesday, 6 June 2017, at the Francis J. Spence Pastoral Centre, 390 Palace Road, and the topic will be “Tribunal Ministry: A Message of Hope.” with presenter Fr. James Quirk.

SCHOOL RETIREMENT CELEBRATIONS The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board is looking forward to the opening of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School, which will consolidate the school communities of Holy Family, St. Patrick and St. Peter Catholic Schools. To celebrate and recognize past and current staff and students, each of these schools will host a school retirement celebration after the regularly scheduled 11:00 a.m. Sunday Mass. The celebrations will begin at the schools at approximately 1:00 p.m., at St. Peter School, on 4 June; and at Holy Family School, on 11 June.

HANDMADE ONLY Craft Sale Looking for Vendors. Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School is hosting a Craft Show on Saturday, 14 October 2017, from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. The cost to vendors is only $30.00 per table, with all the money going to the 2018 Jamaica Mission Trip. TOTUS TUUS CATHOLIC SUMMER CAMP Youth in the Archdiocese of Kingston are invited to attend a week at Totus Tuus (Latin for, “Totally Yours”) Catholic Summer Camp, 9-14 July 2017, at St. Paul the Apostle Parish. REFUGEE RESETTLEMENT SERVICES KINGSTON Donations Depot is open to receive donations for refugee families on Tuesday, 1:00-3:00 p.m.; Thursday, 9:00-11:00 a.m.; and Saturday, 9:00-11:00 a.m. We are looking for new pillows, sheets, blankets, toilet paper, paper towels, dishcloths, cleaning supplies and used household items in good condition.
