Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord

25 March 2018

In truth this man was a son of God.

Today we celebrate the Lord’s entry into Jerusalem, humble yet triumphant.  We commemorate his arrest and execution, a death that becomes exaltation.

Todays Readings

Procession: Mark 11:1-10

Actions speak louder than words, and Jesus enters Jerusalem a humble king.

First Reading: Isaiah 50:4-7

God’s servant bravely faces his foes.

Second Reading: Philippians 2:6-11

A hymn proclaims the glory of Christ.

Gospel: Mark 14:1-15:47

The sky is darkened, the veil of the Temple is torn in two and a soldier recognizes the Son of God.

THE NEEDS OF THE CHURCH IN THE HOLY LAND  The collection taken up on Good Friday, 30 March 2018, is for the Holy Land.  At this time of crisis in the Middle East, the need for these funds is greater than ever.  The proceeds of the Holy Land collection provide support to the Christian minority who live there and to pilgrims; the funds assist with the preservation of shrines and archeological areas, interventions during crisis situations, and educational activities.  You are invited to give generously in your support of this collection.
