Thirty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time
12 November 2017

“Stay awake.”

Introduction

We gather today in response to God’s call to us. The Lord invites us to stay awake and make ourselves ready for the banquet of eternal life.

Today’s Readings

First Reading: Wisdom 6:12-16

God’s wisdom is not distant, but reveals herself to those who are alert to her presence.

Second Reading: 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

Paul offers a word of consolation and hope: the Lord will come from heaven to take us with him.

Gospel: Matthew 25:1-13

The wise are those who prepare for the day of the Lord’s coming.
