Twenty-Eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time

14 October 2018

“How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the Kingdom of God.”

It is difficult to place God and God’s will at the centre of our lives.  There are so many distractions, good and bad, that elbow their way in, demanding our attention.  Our celebration of Mass is always a time for redressing the balance.

Todays Readings

First Reading: Wisdom 7:7-11

The gift of wisdom is preferred to any riches.

Second Reading: Hebrews 4:12-13

The word of God is alive and active.  Nothing can hide from God.

Gospel: Mark 10:17-30

Riches do not bring easy access to the kingdom of God.
