Automatic Debit is available for those St. Joseph’s parishioners wishing to have their Sunday Offering and/or Building Fund Collection debited directly from their bank account on a monthly basis. Those who wish to begin Automatic Debit are asked to visit the parish office to complete the necessary paperwork.

JUNIOR LITURGY PROGRAM will commence this Sunday, 10 September 2017, at the 9:00 & 11:00 a.m. Masses. The Junior Liturgy program is designed for children who are 4-8 years of age. The children are asked to sit with their parents until they are called forward by the Priest. They will receive a blessing and be guided into the parish hall. They will return to their parents just before the Offertory. We look forward to a great year with your children and thank our volunteers for all their assistance. If you wish to be a volunteer with the Junior Liturgy Program, please contact the parish office, at 613-547-5004, as soon as possible.
MASS AT ST. MARY’S CEMETERY St. Joseph’s Parish will celebrate Mass at St. Mary’s Cemetery this Sunday, 10 September 2017, at 2:00 p.m., at 718 Division Street, Kingston. Archbishop O’Brien will preside. This will be an excellent opportunity to remember, and to commend to God, family members, friends and former parishioners who have gone before us. Please invite others who might wish to join you; and bring a hat and lawn chair for your comfort and convenience. In the event of rain, Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s.

CATHOLIC WOMEN’S LEAGUE General Meeting will take place on Monday, 11 September 2017, at 7:00 p.m., in the parish hall. Come and learn about how to improve your cultural confidence using an illuminating step-by-step approach created by our Speaker, Shannon Monk Payne. Have you ever felt awkward or shy about engaging with Indigenous people because you didn’t know where to start? Have you ever felt uncomfortable about your level of knowledge about Indigenous issues in Canada? Shannon is the founder and CEO of Sakatay Global, and creator of the Circle Approach to Cultural Confidence. She has been a leader and innovator in Indigenous Education for almost 35 years and is known for creating welcoming, safe and comfortable learning environments that help people understand how to build positive relationships with Indigenous people and communities in Canada. All female parishioners, 16+ years are welcome, members or not.

RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION FOR ADULTS Do you know
someone who has expressed an interest in becoming Catholic, or was baptized Catholic as a child, but has not celebrated the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist? We offer an opportunity to come together in a small group to learn more about our faith. Sessions focus on the teachings and experience of Church and prepare individuals to celebrate the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist during the Easter season. You are welcome to participate in the process with your questions, your insights and your faith story in a warm accepting setting. For information, please contact the parish office at 613-547-5004. Sessions will begin in late September.
SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION will take place on Sunday, 19 November 2017, at 2:00 p.m. If you have a child in grade 8 who wishes to receive this Sacrament, please contact the parish office at 613-547-5004 to register by 25 September 2017. If your child attends one of the parish schools, you will receive a registration form from the school. The Enrollment Ceremony will take place on the weekend of 14-15 October 2017. There will be a parents’ meeting on Monday, 25 September 2017, at 7:00 p.m. in the parish hall regarding Confirmation.

DUC IN ALTUM 2017-18 INFO NIGHT Calling all young adults in their 20’s & 30’s to attend an info night, on Wednesday, 13 September 2017, at the Diocesan Centre, 390 Palace Road. The experience consists of retreat weekends and six Saturday sessions of group activities, guest speakers, prayer, discussion, spiritual accompaniment and lots of fun! RED MASS On Tuesday, 12 September 2017, Archbishop O’Brien will be celebrating the Red Mass at 7:00 p.m., at St. Mary’s Cathedral. The Mass is offered particularly for those in the legal profession – lawyers, judges, clerks, court reporters, court security officers, legal assistants, receptionists, and students and professors of the Faculty of Law – is generally celebrated close to the opening of the courts which commences the judicial year. The tradition of the Red Mass has been celebrated since the 13th century. All who work in the justice system throughout the Archdiocese of Kingston are most welcome and encouraged to attend this Mass. Everyone else is very welcome as well.
