United in Diversity – A Trinity of Love and Community

United in Diversity — A Trinity of Love and Community

Today we celebrate Most Holy Trinity Sunday, the great mystery of our faith: One God in Three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This profound mystery reveals not only who God is but also who we are called to be.

The Trinity is a communion of love—perfect unity in diversity. The Father is not the Son, the Son is not the Spirit, yet all are one in essence, in will, and in love. The Trinity is the divine family in perfect harmony. As St. Augustine once said, “The Father is the Lover, the Son the Beloved, and the Holy Spirit the Love between them.”

How beautifully fitting, then, that we also celebrate today as Multicultural Sunday in our parish this Sunday! Just as the Trinity is a unity of distinct persons, we too are a community of many peoples, cultures, languages, and backgrounds, brought together as one Body in Christ.

As we participate in today’s joyful liturgical celebration, enjoy different cultural presentations, traditional foods, let us remember this truth: Our differences do not divide us; they enrich us. The Trinity teaches us to live not in isolation or competition, but in relationship, mutual respect, and love.

We are invited to reflect the very nature of God: a family of love, a community of self-giving, a unity in diversity.

So today, let us say with joy:We are many, yet we are one.

We are different, yet we are united.
We are a reflection of the Most Holy Trinity.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God,
and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with us all (2 Corinthians 13:13). Amen.
