O Sacrament Most Holy
Today’s Feast of Corpus Christi invites us to celebrate one of the greatest gifts Jesus has given to His Church: His real presence in the Holy Eucharist. At every Mass, bread and wine become the Body and Blood of Christ. Jesus does not merely symbolize His presence; He truly gives Himself to us as food for our journey.
In the Gospel, Jesus feeds the multitude with five loaves and two fish. What seems insufficient becomes more than enough in His hands. This miracle points toward the Eucharist, where Jesus continues to feed His people with the Bread of Life.
The Eucharist is Heaven touching Earth. Every Mass is an encounter with the living Jesus who says: “Take and eat; this is my body.” He feeds us so that we may become His hands, feet, and heart in the world.
May our love for the Eucharist deepen, our participation in Mass become more fervent, and our lives become a witness to the presence of Christ whom we receive.
The Mass does not end when we leave the church. We are sent forth to bring Christ into our homes, workplaces, schools, and communities.
A person who receives Jesus in the Eucharist should become a living tabernacle, bringing Christ’s presence wherever they go.
“O Sacrament Most Holy, O Sacrament Divine, all praise and all thanksgiving be every moment Thine.” Amen.
